About Me
Reflexology Case Studies from Feet First Reflexology

Reflexology and Heartburn and Night time leg cramps

Penny first came to see me when she was 36 weeks pregnant with her third child.  Her main complaints during her pregnancy were that she was suffering with leg cramps during the night, daily heartburn and uncomfortable Braxton Hicks contractions.  Penny came to me for weekly treatments which she found very relaxing.  After starting the treatments Penny no longer experienced any leg cramps at night.  Her heartburn also improved which she described as occasional instead of daily - very different to her previous pregnancies and pre- treatment and which she feels was due to the reflexology.  Unfortunately the treatments did not see any reduction in her Braxton Hicks contractions which continued until the end of her pregnancy.  Penny went on to have a healthy baby boy after a labour lasting just one and a half hours.

Reflexology and Polymyalgia

Laura has been suffering from polymyalgia for the past couple of years which has mainly troubled her in her hip, shoulder and neck.  As a result she always felt tired and sometimes a little low.  Laura responded quite strongly to the first two treatments and had what is called a 'healing reaction' where she felt very tired, achy and suffered a headache for the day after each treatment.  However after her third treatment she described herself as feeling much taller and having more energy.  After a course of five weekly treatments Laura said that she was feeling much better in herself, has more energy than previously and that her neck and shoulder are now troubling her less.  Laura continued with a further 5 fortnightly treatments and has now reduced to monthly treatments with an occasional extra top up if she feels she needs an extra boost.

Reflexology and Neck pain

Diane first came to see me about one week after she had been struck down with neck pain leaving her barely able to move around.  The pains were shooting up a nerve into her head and also giving her bad headaches.  She was also seeing a physio for treatment and was taking pain killers.  The problem areas were clearly evident in her feet both to Diane and myself as soon as we started treatment.  The majority of the treatment was spent on relaxation techniques and breaking down crystals in the relevant areas.  Diane felt an immediate improvement in the pain and her mobility after the first treatment.  By the fourth treatment she was no longer taking pain killers and was gaining normal mobility.
